The company is comprised of 18 local authorities and four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

Procurement plays a key role in the delivery of our business objectives. Whilst the Procurement Team provides guidance on policy and best practice, for the organisation we are also responsible for delivering best value solutions for all goods, services and works required by the business. Our services range from setting strategic direction for collaborative and efficient supply chain management to specification development and award of contract.

This exciting opportunity will be based within a dynamic and supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Procurement Manager, Procurement Lead Officers and other members of the wider Governance Team. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external procurement related requests and will provide support and excellent customer service on a diverse range of enquiries. This is an excellent opportunity to build upon existing procurement knowledge in the context of an energetic public sector environment.

We are looking for a pro-active candidate with experience within the procurement sector who is able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You should possess good knowledge of Microsoft Office and be able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

Excellent customer service skills will be essential in order to deliver a professional service at all times. Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations are desirable, along with experience in using procure to pay systems and e-tendering portals.
