Appointment of Independent Members to the Audit Committee

East Staffordshire Borough Council has an Audit Committee that operates in accordance with CIPFA's guidance, as an essential element of good governance. We are now looking to appoint two people with financial expertise such as an accounting, internal audit or financial management background, to join our Audit Committee.

If you have a proven track record in public sector finance or internal audit, and are looking to make a difference, then we would like to meet you.

You need to have excellent communication skills and understand the importance of the role that the Audit Committee plays within the Council.

You must not have been, within the period of five years preceding the date of appointment, a Member or Officer of East Staffordshire Borough Council, or of any Town or Parish Council within the Borough's area, or a relative or close friend of a Member or Officer of the Council. This is an unpaid position however expenses will be paid.
